Callum | Newborn Photo Session

This family is one of my favourite clients. They are just so enthusiastic about life, each other, their children and their photographs.

I met little Callum Josh when he was just a few days old and we had a wonderful session capturing all of his tininess and cuteness.

This image below is just so precious. Dad, Eben is a personal trainer at Virgin Active and it was pretty cool seeing his strong, muscled arms holding his little boy. Mom, Megan, so loved this picture she asked for the words of a really special song to be added and has given it as a gift to her husband.
Can you believe just how tiny their little feet are. Two little toes fit inside his Daddy's wedding band with loads of space to spare.

 What a beautiful couple.

Thank you Megan and Eben for choosing me to be your photographer. It was such a joy and a pleasure working with you.

Swart Family Huge Fun Family Photo Session

The return of Michau and his family. I photographed him when he was just 7 months old. He is now two and a half. He is such a little boy; he has his wild animals, loves being tickled and running wild. I looooved this session.

I love the reactions I get when I tell siblings to give each other a kiss or a hug. It always gets such a lovely response.
Bring in the wild animals, lions, cheetahs, elephants, the whole lot.
And bring in dad. And of course Michau was not going to pose with dad so dad decided to take things into his own hands.
 And mom had a turn.
And I had a turn to get some smiles too.
And then we brought in sweet, dear, little sister who just sat quietly and watched the madness unfolding before her.
Family portrait time, eek!
 Clap hands, precious little doll.

I am honoured that you came back to me to photograph your growing family. Thank you.

Have a great week!

Dominique - Matric Dance Photo Session

Now this was an awesome session. Here comes a truly Type 1 matriculant with an equally Type 1 mom and dad!!! And I'm a Type 1 so how much fun did we have?!?

(If you have no idea what I am talking about check out this link: DYT. Find out what type you are for free and then learn how to live it, dress and love yourself! You'll be happier, I promise.)

The week before the dance Dominique's mom brought in the dress and accessories to have a photograph of them on their own.

This wonderful family was late, but who isn't on their matric dance afternoon of preparations and dramas. So we had to hustle.
They drove up in a gorgeous old timer, whipped out a picnic table, with tablecloth (!) and offered everyone a drink! They were here for some serious fun.

Dominique was a bit nervous because she felt her makeup was too dark and her hair was a bird's nest. So the very first thing I did was take a close up her and show her that she looked so beautiful. She immediately relaxed and was a great model.
I loved the choice of location. It made a lovely contrast with the super cute tutu dress that Dominique chose to wear. I also brought along some vintage props that really added to the look.
I love this bird's nest...seeing how elegant it looked I regret cutting my own hair so short.

You can't help but love this family.

Thank you all for choosing me to photograph your family. I had a huge amount of fun and am so pleased that you love your photographs.

Have a blessed week!

Heike | Matric Dance Photo Session

I do not get to do many matric dance sessions as they only come around once a year and I can only take one client a day but I actually really enjoy doing them. A different side of my creativeness has to get into gear and and it is great fun.

Meet Heike, a gentle soul who just wants to please. She was so polite and respectful that she made me feel special.
We had several conversations about where to have her session as she really wanted to have something different from Parliament Gardens. At the last moment she settled on the Supreme Court passageway with the stunning large columns. I am very happy with how the photographs turned out.
I really had to concentrate to make sure the columns were always upright and not looking like the leaning tower of Pisa. Not such an easy thing because camera lenses tend to distort things a bit.
 I love the dimples...very cute.
Wind blowing through hair always looks so romantic.
Where would we be without our moms?
 Sisters...

Thank you, Heike, for choosing me to be your photographer. You chose a lovely location that is very striking.

I'm sorry I did not always understand your Whatsapps... I am not old but shorthand Afrikaans sms language is sometimes beyond me. I have noticed that 'di' is actually 'nie'. ??? Eek, help. I'll learn one day.

Have a great week.
