Welcome Cyrus | Newborn Photo Session

I looooooove newborn shoots. They are a lot of work but so worth it once the photographs are all done.

Meet little Cyrus at just 10 days old.
Sometimes it can take up to an hour before I even get to take my first photograph. Babies love to wriggle and a little soft wrap can help them settle down to a nice deep sleep.
Once they are settled they often let you bring their little legs right up under their chins. Notice his little toes just peeking out under his chin.
This is such a cute hat knitted by my best friend's mom. I tried to crochet one (my knitting is rather rudimentary) but it was more of a frustration than a success.
He was not to thrilled with the other poses that follow on after the one above so we moved on to something he was more comfortable with.
This one below is my favourite.

Thank you so much for choosing me to be your photographer and trusting me with your little newborn. It really is an honour.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Ras Family's Miracle Baby

I first met this little girl when she was still very tiny and had recently come home from being in hospital for quite some time. She is another miracle baby born before she should have been.

She is now six months old and the whole family was gathered for her christening.

We went to Parliament Gardens for a lovely photo session with this beautiful family.
She just loves her Ouma and was full of kisses and loves.

And her big brother is just her hero. She smiled and gurgled and laughed just for him.

Mom with her two precious children. I got some cutie pie smiles from her too.

 And with her Aunty.
She then got a little cold because it was rather cool that day and she just decided to close her eyes and go to sleep.
I love being a baby and family photographer. It is never boring and once she fell asleep I just went with it and got some photographs that are so special.
Children really do not have to 'behave' for a photo session. Obviously they cannot misbehave and be rude but they really just need to be themselves. Those are the photographs that you will treasure for your lifetime.
 So special...
Then mom dragged big brother and his girlfriend in front of the camera for some really fun shots.

The plan was to also take some photographs of the little princess in her christening dress but she was lights out so I took this photograph instead. The dress is absolutely beautiful. It was made by Ouma from mom's wedding dress.

Thank you for choosing me to be your photographer and trusting me to capture this special time in your lives.

I hope you all have a great weekend!
