{simple happiness}

I was inspired by Rita from The CoffeeShop Blog {Friday Photo Bliss} who was in turn inspired by the SouleMama blog's {this moment} to post one photograph every Friday that I had taken that week that makes me really happy. So here is this week's {simple happiness}.

If you are also inspired to do the same I'd love to see your photos! Link them in a comment below.

Laughter - medicine for the soul!

This morning I was crying from sheer frustration and hopelessness and then this afternoon I found this...

Today has been somewhat tough and I had definitely lost my sense of humour until I went to put Nora in her bed for her afternoon nap and I found her doll. She just loves this doll but quite what has happened to her hair I really cannot tell. Anyway, I laughed so hard I cried. I now have a definite case of rofl! (rolling on floor laughing)

Nora turns 3!

My eldest daughter turned 3 on Tuesday. What a sweetheart she is. Her two passions in life are dancing dresses and singing. A dancing dress is any piece of clothing, whether it actually is a dress or not, that moves when she does. So the pressie that got the biggest smile was her new circle skirt that I made for her. She wore it so proudly in the morning and informed her Daddy just before she left for school that she cannot wear it to play school because it will get dirty!

Here is a shot of her showing off her dancing skirt.

Unfortunately the dancing dress did not survive the day. Later on in the afternoon Nora went tearing around the yard on her black bike and ripped big holes in it. It can be salvaged but she will have to forfeit at least 20cm in length.

She celebrated the day with 4 of her little friends at a Little Girls' Tea Party. It was a smash hit as can be attested to by these amazing fashion shots.

I was inspired by the June issue of Ideas magazine to make the latest trend in birthday cakes; cake pops. Never again I tell you. They are a breeze to make but working with the chocolate to decorate them was a nightmare. The first 6 were rejects. They ranged from the white chocolate being too hot and melting the milk chocolate to being too cold and no decorations sticking to them. Anyway they were a huge success with the girls and one little angel has said she is having them for her birthday cake next week. Not so sure Mommy is up for that.

 I'm now swee!

This little sweetheart wasn't convinced by all the excitement over the makeup and enjoyed herself on the swings where it was a lot quieter.

Fashionista Mia certainly lives by the maxim: You cannot have too much of a good thing!

And so ended our Little Girls' Tea Party!

Jean-Pierre - 4 months old

Little Jean-Pierre is a Mini Me version of his dad. He has the cutest little laugh and when he smiles it just melts your heart.

Double chins are just so cute!

He got a bit fed up with us after a while but after a good feed and some cuddles he was happy to play along again. This is without doubt my favourite shot of the day.

He so enjoyed being propped up in this basket. Mom's scarf landed up being part of the story because he was just having so much fun with it.

Jean-Pierre was having none of the 'wrap me up in a scarf and I'll lie still for you'. Anything wrapped around him was a source of amusement and a reason to roll around and laugh. It was an absolute joy to watch him and capture his happy moments.

Kira - 24 Days Old

Little Kira is a sweet little thing and was lots of fun to photograph. She gave us some lovely awake moments and after a nice feed fell into a deep sleep which allowed us to move her from scene to scene without any fuss.

Here are some of my favourites of her. She also earned herself the honour of being in this blog's header.

Coming soon is Jean-Pierre...
