Nora turns 3!

My eldest daughter turned 3 on Tuesday. What a sweetheart she is. Her two passions in life are dancing dresses and singing. A dancing dress is any piece of clothing, whether it actually is a dress or not, that moves when she does. So the pressie that got the biggest smile was her new circle skirt that I made for her. She wore it so proudly in the morning and informed her Daddy just before she left for school that she cannot wear it to play school because it will get dirty!

Here is a shot of her showing off her dancing skirt.

Unfortunately the dancing dress did not survive the day. Later on in the afternoon Nora went tearing around the yard on her black bike and ripped big holes in it. It can be salvaged but she will have to forfeit at least 20cm in length.

She celebrated the day with 4 of her little friends at a Little Girls' Tea Party. It was a smash hit as can be attested to by these amazing fashion shots.

I was inspired by the June issue of Ideas magazine to make the latest trend in birthday cakes; cake pops. Never again I tell you. They are a breeze to make but working with the chocolate to decorate them was a nightmare. The first 6 were rejects. They ranged from the white chocolate being too hot and melting the milk chocolate to being too cold and no decorations sticking to them. Anyway they were a huge success with the girls and one little angel has said she is having them for her birthday cake next week. Not so sure Mommy is up for that.

 I'm now swee!

This little sweetheart wasn't convinced by all the excitement over the makeup and enjoyed herself on the swings where it was a lot quieter.

Fashionista Mia certainly lives by the maxim: You cannot have too much of a good thing!

And so ended our Little Girls' Tea Party!
