Heike | Matric Dance Photo Session

I do not get to do many matric dance sessions as they only come around once a year and I can only take one client a day but I actually really enjoy doing them. A different side of my creativeness has to get into gear and and it is great fun.

Meet Heike, a gentle soul who just wants to please. She was so polite and respectful that she made me feel special.
We had several conversations about where to have her session as she really wanted to have something different from Parliament Gardens. At the last moment she settled on the Supreme Court passageway with the stunning large columns. I am very happy with how the photographs turned out.
I really had to concentrate to make sure the columns were always upright and not looking like the leaning tower of Pisa. Not such an easy thing because camera lenses tend to distort things a bit.
 I love the dimples...very cute.
Wind blowing through hair always looks so romantic.
Where would we be without our moms?
 Sisters...

Thank you, Heike, for choosing me to be your photographer. You chose a lovely location that is very striking.

I'm sorry I did not always understand your Whatsapps... I am not old but shorthand Afrikaans sms language is sometimes beyond me. I have noticed that 'di' is actually 'nie'. ??? Eek, help. I'll learn one day.

Have a great week.

Anezka | Newborn Photo Session

Introducing Anezka....
This little poppet was a pleasure to work with. She slept beautifully and let me put her into all kinds of positions. This photograph below is my favourite baby photo. It has made it onto the back cover of my new Maternity and Newborn Client Guide. She looks so lovely in purple which happens to be her mom's favourite colour too.

We started the session with dad, who was quite nervous about this photography thing. Despite his nerves I think he is incredibly photogenic. Doesn't this photograph of him just make you say, "awwww...."?

Little thing was getting ready to go to sleep. Just look at how tiny she is lying on daddy's arms.
Once she had had a good feed and gone off to the sleep the posing could begin.
All folded up... Babies have been lying in the womb like this for a few months so it is quite easy, when they are only a few days old, to fold them back up like this. The older they get the more they straighten out and the less they like it.
Beautiful little angel.
I love this setup. It is pretty and girly. Anezka's mom was so into the soft, feminine props that I was in heaven. I love girly things.

Thank you Reinette for choosing me to be your photographer to take your beautiful newborn photos. I had a lovely time and I hope that you will treasure these photographs for a lifetime.

Have a blessed week!

Neumbo Family Photo Session

This was a special family photo session for me. Mum and Dad were celebrating their wedding anniversary and wanted to remember their family just as it is right now.

I so enjoy working with children of all ages. Their little personalities shine through without any hinderance or pretence. This little on below is just a year old and very still. Patience and gentleness gets the smiles.

Big sister, on the other hand is a little model. She was great fun and could not stop posing and laughing and being positively adorable.
I just love this photograph.
This dad is so calm and collected and his little girl just lights up at his attention and affection.
There is just something really special about when a dad comforts his children. When a big, strong man shows tenderness and love, I know it melts my heart, I'm sure it does all moms hearts.
It is really something special to see two people really love each other and who cannot wait to go away for the weekend just to be together and to celebrate their lives together. Especially after two children, rough nights and nappies that require a change of outfit and a bath for all concerned!

Congratulations!! You are two wonderful people and I'm really glad that I got to work with you. Thank you for choosing me to be your photographer for your family portraits.

Have a blessed week!

Mvula Family Photo Session

I truly enjoyed this family. This mum has just a gentleness about her that is so beautiful. The two girls are real treasures. They have completely different personalities and this is where Dressing Your Truth has really helped me. I have learned to recognised different personality types and know how they think and feel. I now have some tricks to connect with each person in a session and get genuine smiles from them.
Dad and his son. Two very ernest gentlemen. They are not quick to smile but when they do it is really from the heart and their whole faces light up.
  Isn't this mum so beautiful?
This little one is also a gentle soul but as cute as anything.
 Big sister...little sister.
Big sister is a gem, she is full of fun and smiles.
Big brother is just the best jungle gym.
 Beautiful ladies.
I just love it!

Thank you, Mvula Family for choosing me to be your photographer. It was a real pleasure.

Have a great day!
