Happy 2nd Birthday Wian!

Now this little man is precious!!!! Wow. I first met him when he was 10 months old. He was busy! Then he came for his first birthday photo session and just a few weeks ago I saw him again for his second birthday shoot.

He started off a little shy but very soon warmed up to me and my box of fun toys.
Before he took a single thing out of my box he asked his dad permission first. I was amazed. This little guy is just two and already in his simple little way asked permission.
I got this little chair made and kids cannot help themselves. They just have to sit on it.
And Papa is his hero. Mom is necessary but Papa is the man!
When you are a boy absolutely anything can be a car...
 Brrrm...brrrm...
Smart mom brought his black bike along. I think every South African and Namibian child over the last 50 years has owned one or several black bikes. I know my brother wore the wheels out on two!
But this black bike is extra special...it has an aerial!!! Look carefully and you will see the extra long cable tie that Papa put on the bike as an aerial at the request of his son.
Boys and trees! :)

I could just eat him up. Look at how earnest he is.
And then I found a dandelion. I've always wanted to take a photograph like this but never had a dandelion on hand.
Mom's preggy belly makes a great pillow!
Thank you for always coming back to me to photograph your special moments. I'm really looking forward to meeting your new little one too.

I wish you all a great weekend!

Heyman Twins | Toddler Family Photo Session

We are still watching them grow…18 months later.

I love these two. Little Man is Mr Personality himself. He is full of smiles and laughs and so enjoys investigating my studio and garden every time he comes to visit.

Little Princess was rather serious the first few times I saw her and I had to work really hard for those smiles. But now…she is happiest itself. She laughs and grins and has an absolute blast. Here are some of my favourites from their latest session. Scroll on down to the bottom to see how much they have grown.

I might just get to see them again on their second birthday. Thank you Alma and Elton… they are precious and I love seeing you all.

Have a great week!

Beautiful Hannah | 7 month baby photo session

Hannah and her lovely parents came to see me a few weeks ago because her mom just felt she was so adorable right now that she needed to capture her absolute cuteness. I couldn't agree more.

I have a little secret to getting this big smiley face from babies. They still not understand that you are still there when they cannot see you…so I face them away from me and their parents and then have their parents crouch down behind me and call them. They swivel around to find the voice and break into huge smiles when they see mommy and daddy are still there. It works every time.

Pearls are always a great entertainer and give some priceless photographs.
Oh yuk, that did not taste or feel good…
Cute, cute, cute
Hannah's mom was inspired by another photograph I took last year that was just like this one.

Thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your beautiful family. It was an honour.

Have a great weekend!

Nothando - Terrific Toddler!

Oh boy, is this little toddler the cutest evert! She arrived still in her pajamas and dressing gown and wasn't quite prepared to change. She also decided that she needed to put on her backpack. My philosophy with small children is to just go with the flow. So we went with the flow and this is the result...

I set up a nice little scene with a cot and some dollies which you would expect most little girls to just love. Well she decided that this was not to her liking and this is what followed...
 Out goes one dolly.
 Out goes the next dolly.
In goes toddler in pajamas, dressing gown and backback.
Now that is so much better!
Next I set up a scene with pearls and necklaces and other things little girls just can't resist.
That went well for a few moments but she had her heart set on the cot so back it came!
Please note how well those pearls suit dad!
I brought out a little Kiwi from New Zealand that cheeps when you press it's belly. Photographs cannot really capture her reaction. She had absolutely no idea what to make of it.
Love, love, love this photo of dad and daughter!
We headed on outside for some photographs under the trees on my cute chair with a really girly, pink raffia umbrella. However our model was having none of that. She had spotted the sandpit and absolutely nothing was going to get her out of there. So we picked up our props and joined her in the sandpit!
